Welcome to The Tarot Witch
Pendulums:
A brief how to
These are very simple to use and as such, are quite popular. You simply hold aloft the small end so the larger end can swing freely. For divination, you must first ask the pendulum to show you which way it will swing for "yes" and which way for "no." Then, concentrate on your question. The pendulum should begin to swing, slowly at first, but then faster. Which way it swings indicates your answer. But, pendulums are easily influenced by the conscious mind, so for more accuracy, it is advised to suspend the pendulum, a "banana tree" (that snazzy little plastic or wooden device in your kitchen that you hang your bunch of bananas from) works well for this, that way you won't be touching it at all. Now, your subconscious , your Higher Self, is free to move the pendulum, without the conscious mind interfering, via the aura.
Pendulums can also be useful for communication with spirits, finding haunted locals, healing, and realigning chakras.

Below, it is a little silly...but it is fun. Enjoy!
Tell us what you think.
This is really just a place like so many others for people to talk about whatever. It is a small site, that maybe could even be fun. We do not make any claims to be right in any way other than to ourselves.
This week's featured Psychic Sense: Clairkinesthesia
This is psychic touch. This can be feeling the temperature change when a spirit is in a room or feeling the spirit touch you shoulder.
Last week's featured Psychic Sense: Clairaudience
This is psychic hearing. This can be hearing the voice of your spirit guides offering you advice, or it can be hearing music when working with faeries and angels. It is hearing things that have no physical explanation and cannot be heard by the ears.
Tarot is not meant to run your life.
Tarot readings are a fun and wonderful tool to help one make decisions. That is the key, though, to "help" one make choices. We all have choices and sometimes with the big ones we just want another opinion. The thing is everyone has one, but what is often forgotten is that the Universe has one as well, whether we like it or not. Can we change what is going to happen? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Does this mean we shouldn't? Well, that is for you alone to decide.
What the Tarot Witch is all about.
This is a place for people of all walks to come together in mutual respect and discuss what may or may not be. Our forums are a great place for that, as is our Chat Room. On our site you'll find articles on Divination, Astrology, Magick and Witchcraft, Paranormal Activity, and even Cryptozoology. Members even have a chance to submit an article in our Article Contest and have it featured on our Homepage! You can also get a reading from the Tarot Witch: choose from the Tarot, the I-Ching, or even have your Birth Chart compiled and read.
The only Site Rules are:
Respect all aspects of the other members. Remember: they may not see things the same as you. Even if what they are saying is blatantly wrong, they must still be treated with respect. Through patience they will come to understand. It is not your right to make them understand. Remember: force begets force.
Do not try to force your beliefs, opinions, or religion onto anyone. Hate will not be tolerated. If you can't say anything nice, then go say it somewhere else.
No swearing. It does not help you make your point, it only makes you look like a fool.
No sexually explicit content. The law is what it is: deal with it.
No typing in ALL CAPS. This is tantamount to yelling, and we can all read you just fine, so knock it off.
Last but not least, RELAX. :)

Dark Moon vs. New Moon- What's the difference?
There almost always seems to be a little confusion as to these two terms. Often, too, they seem to be used interchangeably -which only adds to the confusion!
So, let's see if we can't set some things straight.
The Dark Moon
Astronomically, this refers to the period when the Moon is not visible in the sky. This lasts between 1-3 days, depending upon your location. This is the period between the end of the Waning Moon up to and including the very start of the Waxing Moon, when the Moon is again illuminated by the Sun.
Astrologically and magickally, this refers to the period when the Moon is not illuminated in any way, it is the period between the end of the Waning Moon and the start of the Waxing Moon.
The New Moon
Astronomically, this refers to the Midpoint of the Dark Moon, the time of which the Moon is exactly between phases, i.e. Waxing and Waning, as such, all times given for the New Moon on calendars, and even on the NASA website, are the Midpoint, the peak of, the Dark Moon.
Astrologically and magickally, this refers to the very beginning of the Waxing Moon, when the Moon is again illuminated by the Sun; that very first Crescent of Moon in the Sky.
I personally prefer to use the astrological and magickal definitions as I feel they are the most accurate. Also, it's interesting to note that these are fairly older definitions to these terms, being used originally as part of maritime, astronomical, and common vocabulary.
Until next time...

So, You Want To Write for The Tarot Witch?
I will be accepting original articles by members on a variety of topics. Every week, I will go through the submissions and pick out my favorite. This article will then be posted on the homepage of The Tarot Witch and will remain in place for the entire week!
Okay, so this is how it works:
I will post what you write. I will not edit, correct spelling and/or grammar. Just remember: everyone is watching.
I will also not allow any form of discrimination and/or attacks on anyone, any group, or any small animals -unless for food. In other words: be nice, please. Remember, not everyone will see it as you do.
The writer retains all rights to their work. And if you plagiarize someone: it's on you (original work is just always better.) Like I said: I am not checking them, just copying and pasting.
No more than around 250 to 500 words: no epics please.
And no, you are not getting paid. Just a chance to get your point of view out, right.
Suggest Topics:
Divination
Astrology
Paganism
Magickal Musings
the Paranormal
the Occult
Spiritualism
And anything else that you think would make a good fit for this site.
Have Fun, just don't make fun. Please.
